The delivery package includes a segmented girth gear, pinion with bearings, industrial gear units or gearmotors, electric motors, and additional components that ensure reliable and safe operation of the system.
Introducing SEW-EURODRIVE Segmented Girth Gears
The key feature of SEW-EURODRIVE girth gears is their segmented design, typically consisting of 8 or more identical segments. This allows for higher manufacturing precision of each component compared to traditional two- or three-part designs.
Throughout production, material quality and machining accuracy are strictly controlled using modern European equipment. After manufacturing, the assembled girth gear undergoes several stages of inspection, including final testing on a dedicated test station designed specifically for this purpose. Customer representatives are welcome to attend final acceptance tests, with all results documented.
Each segment is identical, which means that, if necessary, it can be quickly replaced without long production stoppages. Spare segments can also be included in the delivery package to ensure maximum reliability.
